Blinkit to deliver orders in India placed from international markets till Raksha Bandhan

Quick-commerce company Blinkit will allow users based in international markets to place orders for delivery in India till the festival of Raksha Bandhan, which will be celebrated on August 19.

The app promises to deliver gifts ordered by people based in the United States, Canada, Netherlands, Germany, France and Japan to people in India within ten minutes. This feature will be available till August 19.

Furthermore, the company is also offering free delivery on rakhi purchases in India.

The co-founder and CEO of the company, Albinder Dhindsa took to the social media platform, X (formerly Twitter) to share the announcement on Saturday, August 17.

“Folks living abroad can now place orders on Blinkit to send Rakhis and gifts to their siblings in India and we’ll deliver in 10 minutes! (sic),” Albinder Dhindsa said in the post on X.

The Gurgaon-based company was co-founded in 2013 by Dhindsa, along with Rishi Arora and Saurabh Kumar.

Blinkit, a private quick-commerce firm, known as Grofers till 2021, was acquired by Zomato in August 2022 in an all-stock deal for ₹4,477 crore.
