Bank Holidays in September 2025: Banks across various Indian states will be closed on account of festivities and regional holidays in September. According to the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) holiday calendar, the ninth month of the year will see at least nine bank holidays on the eve of Karma Puja, the first Onam, Id-E-Milad, Navratra Sthapna, the birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji, Maha Saptami, and Maha Ashtami.

Besides the regional holidays, all scheduled and non-scheduled banks across the country will observe a public holiday on the second and fourth Saturdays and all Sundays.

Other than these days, banks will also observe holidays on September 13 and 27, which are the second and fourth Saturdays, respectively.

While all in-person banking services at the branches are suspended, and cheque-clearing facilities are not operational, net banking services will be available. Furthermore, customers will be able to withdraw cash from the ATM and utilise UPI facilities.

While there are no stock market holidays in September, the NSE and BSE will be closed on three days in October on account of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, Diwali Laxmi Pujan, and Balipratipada.
