Public and private sector lenders will remain shut for a total of ten days this month, because of various public holidays, along with the second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays. The closures' dates will vary state-by-state, as some have declared public holidays for some of the festivals while others have not.

Due to public holidays, bank customers should plan their visits to the branch after checking if their state or union territory has notified a holiday. There are ten holidays in June.

Which are the bank holidays in June 2024?

Banks in June 2024 will remain closed for public holidays, including Maharana Pratap Jayanti, Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Arjun Dev ji, Young Mizo Association Day, Raja Sankranti, Bakri Eid (Id-Uz-Zuha) and Vat Savitri Vrat. Apart from this, banks will also remain closed on Sundays and second and fourth Saturdays.

State-wise list of bank holidays in June:

  • June 8: Second Saturday
  • June 9: Sunday
  • June 10: On this date, a bank holiday will be observed in Punjab for the Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Arjun Dev ji.
  • June 14: Banks will be closed on this date in Odisha for Pahili Raja.
  • June 15: Mizoram will be observing YMA Day. On this day, Odisha will also observe Raja Sankranti.
  • June 17: On the occasion of Bakri Eid, banks will remain closed across India, except in some states.
  • June 18, 2024: Bakri Eid (Id-Uz-Zuha) will be marked in Jammu and Srinagar.
  • June 21: Banks in several states will be closed for Vat Savitri Vrat.
  • June 22: Fourth Saturday
  • June 23: Sunday

While bank branches will be closed on the above-mentioned dates in respective states, online banking services, ATM, UPI phone banking, and customer care services will remain unaffected.
