Under the partnership, Airtel users will get 100 GB of Google One cloud storage free of cost for six months, the telecom major said in a release.

The Google One plan also allows users to share storage with up to five additional people at no extra cost, enhancing value for families and groups.

After the six-month complimentary period, the subscription will be available for ₹125 per month, billed alongside the customer’s regular Airtel plan. Customers who choose not to continue can opt out of the service.

The offer will be available to all eligible customers through the Airtel Thanks app.

The partnership seeks to address the issue of growing data storage constraints faced by users by ensuring that customers have adequate space to store photos, videos, documents and other digital content without the need to frequently delete files or resort to expensive physical storage expansions, according to the release.

“This partnership will present an opportunity for millions of our postpaid, Wi-Fi customers allowing them access to a further 100 GB of storage,” said Siddharth Sharma, Director – Marketing and CEO, Connected Homes, Bharti Airtel.

The service is compatible with both Android and iOS platforms and supports backup of WhatsApp chats, photos, videos and documents, making switching devices easier and more secure.

Karen Teo, Vice President, Platforms & Devices Partnerships, APAC, Google, said, “Together, we will make it easier for our users to safely back up photos, videos and important files on their phones with more storage across Google Photos, Drive, Gmail and more.”
