Vistara experience on Air Inidia flights: Enjoy premium cabin options on major routes starting Dec 1, 2024.
Air India is giving its domestic route map a premium upgrade. Following its merger with Vistara earlier this month, the airline on Wednesday announced its plan to offer its premium narrowbody cabin products on five routes starting December 1, 2024.
Air India will deploy Vistara’s A320neo aircraft—known for their premium three-class cabin setup—on five high-traffic routes.
Passengers travelling between Delhi-Mumbai, Delhi-Bengaluru, Delhi-Hyderabad, Mumbai-Bengaluru, and Mumbai-Hyderabad will soon enjoy the option of 'Business', 'Premium Economy', and 'Economy Class' on certain flights operated by Air India. They can look for flight numbers starting with "AI2" to identify these flights, such as AI2999 on the Delhi-Mumbai sector.
Air India has also optimised the schedule for premium aircraft to ensure the flights are spread throughout the day while maintaining high frequency. The carrier now offers over 1,000 weekly flights across these routes, including 56 daily on Delhi-Mumbai and 36 on Delhi-Bengaluru.
The A320neo aircraft boast Air India’s best-in-class cabin interiors. Business Class offers eight spacious seats with features like 41-inch pitch and leg rests, while Premium Economy includes 24 extra-legroom seats with 33-inch pitch. Economy Class, with 132 seats, provides a comfortable experience with a standard 29-inch pitch.
Travellers can expect a full-service experience, including complimentary meals and lounge access for premium passengers, on metro-to-metro routes.
Air India will continue to operate one widebody flight each between Delhi and Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad using its Boeing 777 or Airbus A350 aircraft, which will have ‘AI’-prefixed three-digit flight numbers.
The code 'AI2XXX' is being used for Vistara flights that are being operated by Air India post the merger to help passengers identify the Vistara flight at the time of booking.
Air India, Vistara and AIX Connect together had a domestic market share of a little over 29% in September, as per the latest official data. Together, the Air India group has an operational fleet of 298 aircraft -- around 208 with Air India and about 90 with Air India Express.
