SUMMARY

RBIDATA features graphical data visualisation, a ‘Popular Reports’ section, a search function, and a Banking Outlet locator for finding banking facilities within a 20 km radius.

The three-day meeting of the MPC started on Wednesday, February 5.

RBIDATA mobile app also integrates SAARC Finance data and connects users to the Database on the Indian Economy (DBIE).

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Wednesday launched RBIDATA, a mobile application designed to provide macroeconomic and financial statistics in a user-friendly and visually engaging format.

The app offers access to over 11,000 economic data series, allowing users to view time-series data in graphical formats and download information for analysis.

It also includes essential details such as data sources, units of measurement, frequency of updates, and explanatory notes to enhance user comprehension.

Among its key features, RBIDATA includes a ‘Popular Reports’ section, which highlights frequently accessed reports, and a search function enabling users to locate data directly from the home screen without navigating through multiple sections.

A ‘Banking Outlet’ section will help users find banking facilities within a 20 km radius of their location.

The app also provides access to economic data from SAARC countries through its ‘SAARC Finance’ link and offers seamless connectivity to the Database on the Indian Economy (DBIE) portal. It is available for both iOS and Android users (version 12 and above) and includes a feedback mechanism for user suggestions and improvements.

“This app offers quick access to the Database on the Indian Economy (DBIE – https://data.rbi.org.in) portal and aims to serve the researchers, students, and the general public,” the central bank said in a release.
