Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release ₹20,000 crores as part of the 18th installment of the PM-KISAN scheme on Saturday, October 5, in Maharashtra’s Washim. More than 9.4 crore farmers across the country will receive direct benefits from the latest instalment, taking the total disbursement under the scheme over ₹3.45 lakh crore.

The scheme, launched in 2019, offers ₹6,000 annual assistance to eligible small and marginal farmers, distributed in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 each. The last instalment under the PM-KISAN scheme was released by PM Modi in June this year.

Eligibility for the PM Kisan scheme is restricted to farmers who own cultivable land, and taxpayers are excluded from the program.

Farmers must complete their eKYC process which can be done through OTP (One-Time Password) on the PM-KISAN portal to receive funds. Alternatively, beneficiaries can visit the nearest Common Service Centre to fulfil the biometric-based eKYC.
