Real GDP at constant prices stood at ₹84.54 lakh crore in Q3 FY26, compared with ₹78.41 lakh crore in the same quarter of 2024-25, the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) said.

Nominal GDP in the third quarter was estimated at ₹90.91 lakh crore, an 8.9% growth over ₹83.46 lakh crore in Q3 FY25.

Nominal GVA for Q3 FY26 was pegged at ₹82.58 lakh crore, registering a growth of 8.2% year-on-year.

The government also released the second advance estimates for 2025-26, projecting full-year real GDP growth at 7.6%. It pegged real GDP at ₹322.58 lakh crore in FY26, up from the first revised estimate of ₹299.89 lakh crore in 2024-25, which had recorded a 7.1% growth.

The first advance estimates, released on January 7, had projected India’s economy is estimated to grow at 7.4% in real terms in 2025-26.

The ministry said the new quarterly GDP series, available from Q1 of 2022-23 to Q3 of 2025-26, incorporates revised methodologies, new high-frequency indicators, improved deflation strategies and greater granularity in estimation.

"The Financial Year (FY) 2022–23 has been selected as base year, as it represents a recent normal year (after COVID), with availability of robust and comprehensive data across sectors of the economy, making it an appropriate benchmark for the new series of Annual and Quarterly National Accounts Estimates," the ministry said.

The provisional estimates for FY26 along with Q4 data will be released on May 29, 2026.
