Top 4 mutual fund updates on August 27: Quant Silver ETF fund managers, HDFC NFO deadline and more

The mutual fund industry saw several key developments on August 27, including changes in fund management responsibilities at Quant Mutual Fund and Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund, the merger of two Aditya Birla Sun Life schemes and a change in the closing date of an HDFC Mutual Fund NFO.

1. Quant Mutual Fund revises fund managers for Quant Silver ETF

Quant Mutual Fund has revised the fund management responsibilities of the Quant Silver ETF.

With effect from August 25, 2026, Sameer Kate, Yug Tibrewal and Sanjeev Sharma will be the new money managers for the scheme.

The changes have been incorporated into the scheme's Statement of Information Document (SID) and Key Information Memorandum (KIM). Other terms and features of the scheme remain unchanged.

2. Aditya Birla Sun Life MF reassigns fund management responsibilities

The schemes are Aditya Birla Sun Life Multi-Asset Omni FOF, Aditya Birla Sun Life Dynamic Asset Allocation Omni FOF, Aditya Birla Sun Life Multi-Asset Passive FOF, Aditya Birla Sun Life Aggressive Hybrid Omni FOF and Aditya Birla Sun Life Conservative Hybrid Active FOF.

Kartikeya Singh will take over as the new fund manager for these schemes.

Meanwhile, Vinod Bhat will cease to be the Fund Manager and Key Personnel of Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC from the effective date.

3. Aditya Birla Sun Life MF announces merger of two schemes

Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC has announced the merger of two schemes into Aditya Birla Sun Life Corporate Bond Fund.

Aditya Birla Sun Life Nifty SDL Plus PSU Bond Sep 2026 60:40 Index Fund and Aditya Birla Sun Life CRISIL-IBX AAA NBFC-HFC Index-Sep 2026 Fund will be merged into Aditya Birla Sun Life Corporate Bond Fund.

The merger will take effect from September 30, 2026.

4. HDFC Gold Silver Passive FOF NFO closing date advanced

The NFO, which was earlier scheduled to close on September 7, 2026, will now close for subscription on August 27, 2026.

Investors can submit switch requests in the NFO until 3 pm on August 27, according to the addendum.

All other terms of the NFO remain unchanged.
