International mutual funds are back in focus in August as HSBC and Invesco asset management companies have reopened fresh investments in some of their international schemes. 1)HSBC Mutual Fund has announced the resumption of transactions through fresh/additional lumpsum, switch-ins, SIP/STP, IDCW transfer plan subscriptions in the following international schemes. The investments in these schemes are capped at ₹2 lakh per PAN per month, effective from August 18, 2026.
  • HSBC Asia Pacific (Ex Japan) Dividend Yield Fund

  • HSBC Brazil Fund

  • HSBC Global Emerging Markets Fund

Fresh investments in these schemes were suspended temporarily on December 4, 2025, due to overseas investment limits prescribed for the mutual fund industry. These funds are now open, allowing investors to make use of the available headroom.

2)Invesco Mutual Fund, on August 10, 2026, announced the resumption of existing subscriptions in its international funds, with effect from August 18, 2026. Investors can invest in the following schemes through existing SIP (Systematic Investment Plan), STP (Systematic Transfer Plan) registrations and IDCW transfer plans:
  • Invesco India - Invesco Global Equity Income FoF

  • Invesco India - Invesco Pan European Equity FoF

  • Invesco India - Invesco Global Consumer Trends FoF

Existing investments in these schemes were suspended temporarily on May 11, 2026, due to overseas investment limits prescribed for mutual fund industry.

3)Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC has decided to introduce a percentage-based Step-Up SIP Facility for all eligible schemes (except Aditya Birla Sun Life ELSS Tax Saver Fund) with effect from Wednesday, August 19, 2026.

The percentage-based Step-Up SIP facility will allow investors to increase their SIP instalment amount by a selected percentage. The minimum percentage will be 10% of the SIP amount and in multiples of 1% thereafter.

4)The Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund has also decided to facilitate purchase, redemption and switch transactions in non-demat form through a stock exchange infrastructure platform, NCDEX- NIDHI, with effect from August 19, 2026.
5)Franklin Templeton Asset Management (India) (AMC) has revised names of the following schemes of Franklin Templeton Mutual Fund with effect from August 25, 2026:
  • Franklin India Medium to Long Duration Fund to Franklin India Medium to Long Term Fund

  • Franklin India Corporate Debt Fund to Franklin India Corporate Bond Fund

  • Franklin India Floating Rate Fund to Franklin India Floating Interest Rates Fund

  • Franklin India Government Securities Fund to Franklin India Gilt Fund

  • Franklin India Long Duration Fund to Franklin India Long Term Fund

  • Franklin India Ultra Short Duration Fund to Franklin India Ultra Short Term Fund

  • Franklin India Low Duration Fund to Franklin India Ultra Short to Short Term Fund.

6)Baroda BNP Paribas Mutual Fund has temporarily suspended subscriptions in its Baroda BNP Paribas Aqua FoF with effect from August 19, 2026. This does not affect existing SIP/STP registrations before the effective date, which will continue as usual.
7)Franklin Templeton AMC has announced a change in the name of Franklin Resources, Inc., the ultimate parent company of the Franklin Templeton group, to ‘Franklin Templeton, Inc.’ with effect from August 17, 2026.
8)JM Financial AMC has informed that the Product Labelling (Risk-o-meter) of JM Multi Asset Allocation Fund (the scheme) (an open-ended scheme investing in equity and equity related instruments, debt & money market securities, gold/silver related instruments and other exchange traded commodity derivatives) stands revised from ‘High’ to ‘Very High’. JM Multi Asset Allocation Fund is a new scheme (initial allotment date is July 15, 2026).
9)Motilal Oswal Mutual Fund has announced changes in the fund management responsibilities of Motilal Oswal Small Cap Fund. The scheme was previously managed by Varun Sharma (Equity), Bhalchandra Shinde, Ajay Khandelwal (Equity) and Rakesh Shetty (Debt). It will now be managed by Ankit Agarwal, Varun Sharma (Equity), Bhalchandra Shinde, Ajay Khandelwal (Equity) and Rakesh Shetty (Debt) with effect from August 17, 2026.
10)DSP Mutual Fund has launched DSP Financial Services Sectoral Debt Fund, an open-ended debt scheme investing in the financial services sector with relatively high interest rate risk and moderate credit risk. The NFO opens for subscription today (August 19, 2026) and closes on August 24, 2026. The minimum subscription amount is Rs 100/- and any amount thereafter.

The performance of the scheme will be benchmarked against Crisil Financial Services Short Term Debt Index A-II and its fund managers are Karan Mundhra, Kunal Khudania and Shalini Vasanta.

The investment objective of the scheme is to seek to generate income and capital appreciation by primarily investing in a portfolio of high-quality debt and money market securities that are issued by entity/undertakings in the Financial Services sector.
