PPFAS Alternate Asset Managers IFSC Private Limited (PPFAS GIFT) has reduced the minimum investment amount for its outbound passive funds from US$5000 to $500.
As of today's USD-INR rate, $5000 is equal to approximately ₹4,78,641.50, while $500 is worth approximately ₹47,864.15. This means that the PPFAS GIFT has reduced the minimum investment amount required for its outbound passive funds by around ₹4,30,777.
The firm currently offers two GIFT City-based outbound funds: Parag Parikh IFSC S&P 500 FOF and Parag Parikh IFSC Nasdaq 100 Fund of Fund. Here are key details about both schemes and what the PPFAS GIFT has said about reduction in minimum ticket sizes.
The Parag Parikh IFSC Nasdaq 100 Fund of Fund tracks the NASDAQ-100 Index, which comprises the 100 largest non-financial companies listed on the NASDAQ Stock Exchange. The index serves as a benchmark for innovation-driven sectors such as technology, communications, and consumer services, reflecting the growth engine of the modern U.S. economy. The index is generally viewed as a proxy for the US tech sector
"Parag Parikh IFSC NASDAQ 100 Fund of Fund is a retail fund launched by PPFAS Gift which will directly invest all monies into NASDAQ 100 accumulating ETFs and UCITS. This is a passive strategy which will give investors direct exposure to NASDAQ 100 index without opening foreign brokerage accounts," PPFAS GIFT says on its website.
In a notice-cum-addendum dated August 21, 2026, PPFAS GIFT said, "The minimum iniƟal subscripƟon of USD 5,000 (United States Dollars Five Thousand) has been revised to USD 500 (United States Dollars Five Hundred), with the change applying prospectively to new subscripƟons from the effective date as may be specified by the FME (Fund Management Entity)."
"The corresponding threshold for the FME's right to redeem all Units in case of part redemption has been revised. The outstanding investment threshold (valued at the prevailing long-term posttax NAV) is now USD 100 (United States Dollars One Hundred), as opposed to the previous threshold of USD 1000 (United States Dollars One Thousand). It is clarified that the aforemenƟoned change will apply prospectively from the effective date as may be specified by the FME," it added.
The Parag Parikh IFSC S&P 500 Fund of Fund tracks the S&P 500 Index, which comprises the 500 leading publicly traded U.S. companies, representing the core of the American equity market. It is a float-adjusted, market-capitalisation-weighted index designed to reflect the performance of the U.S. large-cap economy.
"Parag Parikh IFSC S&P 500 Fund of Fund is a retail fund launched by PPFAS Gift which will directly invest all monies into S&P 500 accumulating ETFs and UCITS. This is a passive strategy which will give investors direct exposure to S&P 500 index without opening foreign brokerage accounts," PPFAS GIFT says on its website.
