Invesco files draft for Nifty India Defence Index Fund with SEBI

SUMMARY

The scheme through passive investments in equity and equity-related securities aims to replicate the performance of the Nifty India Defence Index, subject to tracking error.

Invesco Mutual Fund has filed the draft papers for its Invesco India Nifty India Defence Index Fund with the SEBI on Tuesday (July 21, 2026).

The New Fund Offer (NFO) date is yet to be announced.

Objective The scheme through passive investments in equity and equity-related securities aims to replicate the performance of the Nifty India Defence Index, subject to tracking error.
Benchmark The benchmark for the scheme is the Nifty India Defence Index.
Asset allocation 95-100% investment in equity and equity-related securities covered by Nifty India Defence index 0-5% in the money market and other liquid instruments. Liquid instruments will comprise cash, bank deposits with scheduled commercial banks, G-Securities, T- bills, Repo on Government securities and any other instruments as specified by SEBI from time to time.

According to the draft Scheme Information Document (SID), “The scheme may take an exposure to equity derivatives of the index or its constituents stocks for short duration when securities of the index are unavailable, insufficient or for rebalancing at the time of change in index or in case of corporate actions or for hedging purposes, as permitted by SEBI/RBI.”

Plans and options available under the scheme

The scheme will have both the direct and regular plans with Income Distribution cum Capital Withdrawal (IDCW) and Growth option.

The IDCW option will be available with two sub-options, including Reinvestment of Income Distribution cum Capital Withdrawal (IDCW Reinvestment) and Payout of Income Distribution cum Capital Withdrawal (IDCW Payout) options.

Abhisek Bahinipati: The fund manager has over 19 years of experience in trading, investment in fixed income and equity.

Exit load The fund carries no exit load.
Minimum Investment During NFO and on continuous basis: ₹100 and in multiples of ₹1 thereafter Additional purchase: ₹100 and in multiples of ₹1 thereafter

The fund has a "very high" risk according to the risk-o-meter.
