How to transfer SBI current account branch?

A home branch is a specific branch of the bank where your account is originally opened and maintained. For State Bank of India (SBI) account holders, the home branch handles all the account-related services and official records.

What if you have moved and you want to change your branch to access services more conveniently and efficiently?

A SBI account holder recently asked on the social media platform X how he can change the branch of his SBI current account.

SBI replied on X, saying that the customer can submit an application at their home branch or the branch where they want to get their account transferred to for Customer Information File (CIF) transfer. CIF is a unique 11-digit identifier assigned by banks to their customers for keeping a centralised record of all the relevant information about a customer's banking activities, including account details, personal information and transaction history.

“Kindly connect with us on our dedicated support handle SBI Cares @OfficialSBICare for quick resolution of your queries, issues or concerns. We have a support handle only for X and we respond either through our main handle @TheOfficialSBI or through the support handle SBI Cares @OfficialSBICare. Both handles are verified with the blue tick on X,” SBI said in its post on X.
