Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has taken several decisions to address pending salary and other issues of state government employees, including agreeing to constitute the 12th Pay Revision Commission (PRC).

The decisions come amid demands from government employees' unions for resolution of pending issues, including the PRC and Dearness Allowance (DA).

The government has also announced the release of two pending DA instalments from October 1, 2026, along with other payments and benefits for employees, police personnel and pensioners, news agency PTI reported.

12th Pay Revision Commission

The chief minister has agreed to constitute the 12th Pay Revision Commission, addressing one of the key pending demands of government employees' unions.

The decision is part of a series of measures announced to resolve pending issues faced by state government employees.

Pending DA payments from October

The government has announced payment of two pending DA instalments from October 1, 2026.

The DA due from July 1, 2024 and January 1, 2025 will be released, according to the official release.

Pension benefit from January 2027

Pensioners will also receive an additional quantum of pension from January 2027.

Those above 70 years of age will receive an additional 10% quantum of pension, while pensioners above 75 years will receive an additional 15%.

Surrender leave payments

The chief minister has also agreed to credit the surrender leave amount pertaining to 2022 into employees' accounts by the coming Sankranti festival.

In addition, police personnel will receive payment for one additional surrender leave during the upcoming Dasara festival.

Employees Health Scheme

Naidu also assured that the Employees Health Scheme (EHS) would be streamlined.

From October onwards, the government will make monthly payments to the NTR Vaidya Seva Trust, according to the official release.

Cost to the state exchequer

According to the government release, the decisions announced by the chief minister will entail an additional annual expenditure of ₹2,880 crore for the government exchequer.

Naidu reiterated that the government would continue to work towards the welfare and well-being of its employees while taking practical steps to resolve their pending issues.
