US shares were trading higher on Tuesday, October 27, following mixed set of earnings from companies such as Boeing, Coca Cola, JetBlue and others. Tech heavy Nasdaq rose as much as 0.78%, S&P 500 index advanced 0.425 while Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.15%.
JetBlue Airways shares advanced more than 15% to $2.78 after the airline delivered 18.4% revenue per available seat mile (RASM) growth, recaptured approximately 87% of higher fuel costs.
Higher yields, supported by improved revenue management technology, drove the majority of third-quarter revenue outperformance. Both premium and Main achieved double-digit RASM growth and demand remained resilient across peak and off-peak travel periods despite higher fuel, JetBlue said in an earnings release.
Average fuel price in the third quarter of 2026 was $3.91 per gallon, 57% higher compared to the prior year period, the company added.
Shares of Coca Cola, the world's leading carbonated soft drink maker, rose 0.17% to $92.88 after the company said that its earnings per share (EPS) grew 8% to $0.93. Operating margin was 33.4% versus 32.0% in the prior year, and comparable operating margin (Non-GAAP) was 32.9% versus 31.9% in the year-ago period.
“Our results this quarter demonstrate our system’s sustained momentum, giving us confidence in our updated full year guidance,” said Henrique Braun, CEO of The Coca-Cola Company.
“By staying close to consumers and executing with agility across our global system, we are delivering quality growth while continuing to invest in the capabilities, brands and people that will fuel our future,” Braun added.
The company's revenue grew 7% to $13.4 billion, and organic revenues (non-GAAP) grew 7%, driven by a 7% increase in concentrate sales.
Concentrate sales were 2 points ahead of unit case volume due to the timing of concentrate shipments.
Shares of Boeing Company, the world's second largest commercial plane maker, shares declined 1.66% to $185 per shares after the company said that its operating cash flow came in at $1.5 billion and free cash flow was $0.5 billion in the third quarter of current financial year.
Total company backlog grew to a record $745 billion, including over 6,300 commercial airplanes.
The Boeing Company recorded third quarter revenue of $24.2 billion, primarily reflecting higher defence and services volume and less favourable commercial delivery mix.
The company reported GAAP loss per share of ($0.26) and core loss per share (non-GAAP) of ($0.34).
Commercial Airplanes third quarter revenue of $10.7 billion and operating margin of 6.5% primarily reflects less favourable delivery mix, higher projected costs associated with future production rate adjustments and higher estimated supply chain costs.
Tesla, Lumentum Holdings, Synopsys, Texas Instruments, NXP Semiconductors, Analog Devices and Intel were top gainers in the Nasdaq index.
On the other hand, MercadoleLibre, DoorDash, Strategy, PayPal, Nebius and Netflix were top losers in the Nasdaq index.
