Apple event marks a significant milestone in the company’s history as it will be the first Apple Day event of newly appointed CEO John Ternus after Tim Cook ended his 11-year tenure on September 1. Besides this, investors will closely watch out for announcements related to Siri AI, which was earlier announced in June 2026 at the WWDC event.

Here is what changed in Apple since the last Apple Day event on September 9, 2025

Market capitalisation

Since the last Apple Day event on September 9, 2026, Apple added market capitalisation of $1.25 trillion dollar to $4.6 trillion from $3.5 trillion in the same month last year. Interestingly, Apple also clinched the title of the most valued company at $4.7 trillion market capitalisation, which was short-lived as Nvidia regained its top spot and marched ahead to cross over $5 trillion valuation.

Earnings

In terms of earnings, the company’s latest quarterly revenue surged above $109 billion, up 16% YoY from $94 billion in Q3 of FY25. Similarly, the company’s EPS surged 29% YoY from $1.57 per share to $2.02 per share for the same period. Much of the earnings growth was led by robust growth in the services segment.

Market share

Apple held the second spot, just behind Samsung Electronics in the global smartphone market with over ~20% market share as of Q2. In the premium smartphone segment the company holds more than ~65% market share in the first half of 2026, with its iPhone 17 lineup.

What to expect from Apple Day event 2026?

Tech enthusiasts and market experts believe the event is expected to be one of the biggest Apple Day events in years, with line up of new product launches. Like every year, the latest iPhone model, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, are expected to be launched today with the 2nm A20 chipset. Besides these, the company is also set to launch its first foldable phone, named iPhone Ultra.

The company is also preparing for a rollout of IOS 27 for iPhone users, which was announced in June 2026 at the WWDC event. The exact date is yet to be announced, but estimates suggest the stable version will be launched post-September
