Vedanta Group stocks were trading in the negative territory on Thursday, September 3. Shares of Vedanta Iron and Steel were trading 2.48% lower at ₹36.23 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) at 2:15 pm. The company on Wednesday said that it has received an order from the Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, Goa, levying a surcharge of ₹28.46 lakh for the FY 2022-23 and 2023-24 towards deviations from notified investment patterns.

"The Company has a good case on merits against the above Order and is examining the same to explore further legal remedies, including challenging the order before the appropriate forum. The Company does not envisage any material impact on the Company's business or operations and the Company/Trust," it said in an exchange filing.

Vendal Power shares fell 0.78% to ₹34.45 per unit on the NSE. In an exchange filing, the firm informed that its Company Secretary & Compliance Officer, Bhagya Hasija, has resigned from his post vide letter dated August 15, 2026.

"Bhagya Hasija is relieved from his position with effect from the close of business hours on September 02, 2026," the firm said.

Vedanta Oil and Gas stock descended 2.10% to ₹37.76 per unit on the NSE. On Tuesday, the company informed that it has joined hands with Beicip-Franlab India to accelerate exploration, resource maturation and production growth in the Northeast.

The integrated seismic and subsurface programme will cover 9 Open Acreage Licensing Programme blocks and one Discovered Small Field block, bringing exploration, resource evaluation and development planning under a single technical framework.

"This collaboration aims at identifying and further developing new drilling opportunities while unlocking additional value from existing discoveries and producing assets," the Vedanta Group company said in a statement.

Shares of Vedanta Ltd and Vedanta Aluminimum were also down 0.87% and 0.57%, respectively.

Meanwhile, benchmark indices were trading flat. NIFTY50 was down 0.01% to 23,912.15, while SENSEX was up just 20 points 76,590.63.
