RIL 49th AGM: Akash Ambani announces direct integration of AI call-agent into Jio Network

RIL AGM: During Reliance Industries' (RIL’s) 49th annual general meeting (AGM) on Friday, June 19, Akash Ambani, the Chairman and Managing Director (MD) of Jio Platform, announced that Jio Call Agent, a native artificial intelligence voice assistant, will be integrated directly into the Jio Network.

He stated that the company, which is set to apply for a draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) for an initial public offering (IPO) on Friday, will have AI embedded directly into the heart of its network.

The AI voice assistant will be available to every Jio customer in every Indian language, Akash said.

The agent will join the call once the user says “Hey Jio”, for as long as the user wants and with consent.

The AI agent, which is set to be launched later during the year, will have multiple capabilities, including the ability to transcribe calls in real time, identify up to 10 unique speakers, and capture every word in their own language.

It will be able to summarize calls, along with sharing summaries, action items, and reminders with every participant after the call.

Furthermore, the AI agent will be able to act, with the ability to order food, reserve tables, book cabs, and schedule meetings agreed upon by the user.

“Your own concierge, on every call, launching for Jio’s 500 million-plus family later this year,” Akash Ambani stated.

Akash Ambani also announced that Jio Platform is now also looking to step up its game in connectivity from the skies with indigenous communications satellites. Read more.

"Jio connected India on the ground. Now, we must connect India from the skies. There are still remotest villages, island communities, and border outposts where the Jio network cannot reach. For them, satellite connectivity will be the bridge to the rest of India. Jio is evaluating the development of a sovereign Low Earth Orbit satellite constellation for India," Ambani said.

While speaking at the 49th Annual General Meeting of Reliance Industries Limited, he said Jio is also partnering with a global constellation for leasing satellite capacity.

Chairman Mukesh Ambani on Friday, June 19, said that the DRHP for the IPO of Reliance Jio has been approved by the board and will be filed with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) later today. Read more.

Shares of RIL closed 1.4% lower at ₹1,309.50 per unit on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Friday, June 19.

Reliance Industries has a total market capitalisation of ₹17.75 lakh crore as of June 19, 2026, according to data on the NSE.
