The initial public offering (IPO) of speciality chemicals firm Prasol Chemicals garnered a total of 3.3 times of subscription at the end of third day on Thursday, September 10.

Until 5 PM, the initial share sale of the firm had received bids for 1,79,62,648 shares as compared to 54,43,229 shares on offer, as per exchange data.

The non-institutional investor (NII) category was subscribed 1.8 times, while the retail individual investor (RII) segment saw 1.7 times of subscription. However, the Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIB) portion was booked 7.22 times.

The ₹500 crore IPO includes an offer for sale and a fresh issue. It has a price band set between ₹643 and ₹676 per share.

The IPO is a book-building issue, comprising an offer for sale of ₹420 crore and a fresh issue of ₹80 crore. The minimum lot size for an application is 22 shares.

Ahead of its IPO, Prasol Chemicals had mobilised nearly ₹150 crore from anchor investors. The anchor investors included Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance Company Ltd, Tata AIA Life Insurance Company Ltd, Turnaround Opportunities Fund, ITI Mutual Fund, Tata Mutual Fund, Edelweiss Mutual Fund and Kotak Mahindra Mutual Fund.

Prasol Chemicals IPO Objective

The money raised from the IPO will be used towards the following objectives:

Repayment of loan (75%): The company will utilise ₹60 crore for partial or full repayment of the borrowings availed by the company.
General corporate purposes (25%): Part of the IPO proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes and issue expenses.
