JSW Cement reports net profit of ₹161 crore vs YoY loss; EBITDA margin contracts in Q1 FY27

JSW Cement Q1 results: JSW Cement reported its earnings for the first quarter of the 2026-27 fiscal year (Q1 FY27) on Thursday, August 13, posting a consolidated net profit of ₹160.64 crore.

In the corresponding period of the preceding fiscal year, the company had logged a loss of ₹1,356.17 crore, when the firm had clocked an exceptional charge of ₹1,466.38 crore, according to a regulatory filing.

However, sequentially, its profit fell 56.7% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) from ₹371.33 crore in the fourth quarter of the 2025-26 fiscal year (Q4 FY26).

Its revenue from operations advanced 21.6% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹1,896.41 crore during the quarter under review, as against ₹1,559.82 crore in Q1 FY26.

It largely remained flat QoQ, rising 0.1% from ₹1,894.99 crore in the quarter-ago period.

At an operational level, its EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation), also known as operating profit, stood at ₹299 crore in the June FY27 quarter, marking an 18.22% YoY decline from ₹323 crore in the year-ago period.

Its EBITDA fell 4.9% QoQ from ₹365 crore in the March quarter of FY26.

JSW Cement’s EBITDA margin contracted by 500 basis points (bps) YoY to 15.7% for the reporting quarter, in contrast to 20.7% in the June quarter of FY26. Its margin declined by 353 bps QoQ from 19.3% in the preceding quarter.

Shares of JSW Cement closed 0.41% higher at ₹131.08 per unit on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Thursday, August 13. However, the earnings were reported after the markets closed.

The scrip has lost more than 1% in the past week and 5% over the month. However, on a year-to-date (YTD) basis, it has jumped 9%.

While the shares hit a 52-week high of ₹162.15 per equity share on September 4, 2025, it touched a year’s low of ₹106.65 apiece on December 4, 2025.
