Its total revenue from operations stood at ₹20,191 crore for the quarter under review as against ₹17,061 crore seen in the corresponding quarter last year, marking a growth of 18% year-on-year (YoY).

Hyundai’s operating profit, also known as earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) for Q2 FY27, slipped 20% to ₹1,912 crore in contrast to ₹2,383 crore seen in the same quarter the previous year.

Its margin contracted to 9.47% in the reporting quarter as compared to 13.97% YoY.

The automaker said commodity headwinds weighed on profitability; however, operating leverage, a healthy mix and cost reduction initiatives helped improve EBITDA margin sequentially.

Hyundai reported a 19% growth in domestic volumes both annually and quarter-on-quarter (QoQ). Rural penetration reached an all-time high of 26.6%, while CNG vehicles accounted for a record 19.1% of volumes during the quarter.

Exports grew 4% YoY and 38% sequentially despite geopolitical challenges.

For half a year (H1 FY27), Hyundai Motor India’s net profit declined 29% to ₹2,072 crore as compared to ₹2,906 crore on a YoY basis. However, its revenue from operations for H1 FY27 stood at ₹36,056 crore as against ₹33,086 crore in H1 FY26, marking a growth of 9%.

Commenting on the earnings, Tarun Garg, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer said, “Q2 FY27 was a milestone quarter for HMIL, marked by record volumes and quarterly revenue exceeding ₹20,000 crore for the first time since our inception. However, elevated commodity costs weighed on the quarter’s profitability.”

Garg said the company expects accelerated momentum in the second half of FY27, with the launch of the Bayon marking the beginning of its golden product cycle. He added that the company is fully prepared to launch a dedicated mass-market electric vehicle in Q4 FY27.

Despite ongoing macroeconomic uncertainties and cost pressures, the company remains focused on strengthening its leadership across key segments and delivering sustainable growth and profitability.
