Apollo Tyres Q1 results: Profit jumps multi-fold to ₹349 crore; Gaurav Kumar resigns as CFO

Apollo Tyres Q1 results: Apollo Tyres on Thursday, August 6, reported its earnings for the first quarter of the 2026-27 financial year (Q1 FY27), posting a multi-fold jump in its consolidated net profit at ₹348.87 crore, on the back of low base effect and strong sales across market segments.

In the corresponding period of the preceding fiscal year, it had logged a profit of ₹12.88 crore, which included the net impact after tax of restructuring and impairment of the Netherlands plant amounting to ₹273 crore, Apollo Tyres said in a regulatory filing.

Its revenue from operations advanced 12.76% YoY to ₹7,398 crore during the quarter, from ₹6,561 crore in Q1 FY26.

Its total expenses were higher at ₹7,012.03 crore as compared to ₹6,171.15 crore.

Geographically speaking, the tyre manufacturer recorded a revenue of ₹5,528.75 crore from the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and Africa (APMEA) region for the reorting quarter, up 14.5% YoY.

Its revenue from the European market rose 10.3% YoY to ₹2,038.58 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2026. However, its revenue from other regions fell to ₹229.81 crore in Q1 FY27, from ₹1,139 crore in the year-ago period.

What the Chairman said

Commenting on the company's performance in the first quarter, Chairman, Onkar Kanwar said: "We delivered healthy revenue growth during the quarter, supported by robust demand across market segments and sustained high-capacity utilisation across our manufacturing network."

He further stated that while the company remains mindful of the evolving macroeconomic environment, it is well-positioned to capitalise on growth opportunities while maintaining our emphasis on value creation.

CFO resigns

Apollo Tyres said its Chief Financial Officer, Gaurav Kumar has resigned from the company and the board, and the company is in the process of appointing a new CFO.

“I hereby tender my resignation from the position of Whole-time Director of the Company to pursue new personal and professional challenges outside the organization and consequently as a member of the Risk Management Committee of the Board with effect from the close of business hours on August 6, 2026. I confirm that there is no other material reason other than the one mentioned herein,” Kumar said in a letter to the board.

However, Kumar stated that he will continue to discharge his duties as the CFO for such period “as may be necessary to ensure a smooth transition”.

Apollo Tyres has a total market capitalisation of ₹28,655.75 crore as of August 6, 2026, according to data on the NSE.
