The company's revenue from operations advanced 45% to ₹19,439 crore at the end of September quarter from ₹13,457 crore in the year-ago period.

Billionaire Gautam Adani-backed company reported strong operational performance as its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) also known as operating profit jumped 60% to ₹8,231 crore from ₹5,150 crore.

Its EBITDA margin improved by 410 basis points to 42.34% as against 38.2%.

During the quarter, Adani Power received letter of award from the Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited for a 25-year power supply agreement of 1,320 MW (1,234 MW net).

It was also selected as successful resolution applicant under the corporate insolvency resolution process of GVK Energy, which owns and operates the 330 MW Alaknanda Hydroelectric power plant in Uttarakhand.

Adani Power said that it signed a shareholders’ agreement with Druk Green Power Corporation for setting up 770 MW Chamkarchhu Hydropower Project in Thimphu, Bhutan through a 49:51 jointly incorporated entity.

The company’s consolidated power sale volume rose by 11.5% to 26.4 billion units (BU) in Q2 FY27 on the back of strong power demand growth.

During Q2 FY27, India’s power demand grew by 11.5% at 502 BU as compared to Q2 FY26, driven by rapid economic growth and a weak monsoon, Adani Power said.

"Growing demand resulted in 11% higher power generation year-on-year to reach 536 Billion Units (“BU”), which coupled with lower hydropower potential resulted in higher contribution in power supply from Coal and Lignite-fired power generation at 66% as compared to 65% in Q2 FY26," Adani Power said in a press release.

“Peak power demand reached 270 GW in Q2 FY27, up 18% from 230 GW recorded in the previous year. Large states like Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra accounted for 27 GW of peak demand each during Q2 FY27, followed by Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka with 23 GW, 20 GW, and 16 GW respectively,” the Ahmedabad-based company added.

Adan Power shares traded 1.88% lower at ₹181 after its earnings announcement.
