Delhi Metro hikes passenger fares with effect from August 25; Check how much more you will pay

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced a marginal hike in passenger fares across its network with effect from Monday, August 25, 2025. The revision, the first in recent years, increases fares by ₹1 to ₹4 depending on the distance of travel.

As per the revised structure, the minimum fare for a journey of up to 2 km has gone up from ₹10 to ₹11. For trips between 2 and 5 km, the fare has risen from ₹20 to ₹21.

Journeys in the 5–12 km slab will now cost ₹32 instead of ₹30, while the 12–21 km category has been revised from ₹40 to ₹43. Travel between 21–32 km will cost ₹54, up from ₹50, and trips beyond 32 km will now be charged ₹64, as against the earlier ₹60.

The new rates also apply on Sundays and national holidays, with corresponding changes in discounted slabs.

For instance, fares of up to 2 km have increased from ₹10 to ₹11, while trips beyond 32 km will cost ₹43 or ₹54, depending on the distance.

The new fare slabs, effective from August 25, 2025, are as follows:

DMRC has also revised fares on the Airport Express Line (AEL), where the increase ranges between ₹1 and ₹5. Detailed fare information for AEL has been made available on the official Delhi Metro website.
