RBL Bank's Q3 profit rises
In the December quarter, the private bank’s net profit rose 6% year-on-year to ₹156 crore. The rise in the bottomline was aided by a drop in provision for bad loans and a rise in the net interest income (NII).
The net interest income rose 11% YoY to ₹1,010 crore. However, the bank’s asset quality deteriorated with the bad loans rising to nearly 4.8% of the loan book from 1.8% in the same period last year. Meanwhile, shares of the bank rose 6.5% yesterday but the results were announced after the market hours.
Laurus Labs reports weak Q3 results
The pharma company’s net profit dropped 44% year-on-year to ₹154 crore in Q3 FY22. In the same period, its revenue also fell 20% to ₹1,029 crore.
The management said that its Q3 performance was impacted by lower sales of anti-retrovirals active pharmaceutical ingredients and formulations. The company expects improvement in sales in the March quarter. Meanwhile, its contract manufacturing business witnessed over 60% growth. Shares of the company were down nearly 3% yesterday.
Chalet Hotels’ loss narrows
The developer and manager of high-end hotels reported a net loss of ₹14 crore in Q3FY22. While it is similar to that of the previous quarter, the loss has halved compared to the December quarter of last year. The rise in total expenditure and asset write-off dented the bottom line.
Its total income rose 21% quarter-on-quarter to ₹165 crore. In the same period, the occupancy also marginally improved to 60% from 56%. Meanwhile, shares of Chalet Hotels were up 2% but the results were declared after the market hours.
