Paytm posts strong growth
The recently listed fintech player’s gross merchandise value (GMV), which is the amount of goods and services sold on its platform, rose by 129% year-on-year to ₹1.6 lakh crore in October and November 2021. This sharp growth in GMV was witnessed due to the festive season and upbeat consumer sentiments.
The number of loans disbursed on its platform during the same period, also rose 414% year-on-year to 2.7 million. While the company is witnessing strong traction, its stock price has been trading below its issue price since listing. Meanwhile, shares of Paytm were down 0.9% yesterday.
Sigachi soars on robust Q2
The shares of the leading manufacturer of excipients for the pharma industry rose 9.3% intraday after the company reported a strong set of Q2 numbers. The net profit rose 24% year-on-year to ₹9.8 crore.
The strong growth in the profit was aided by a 17% rise in the revenue to ₹57 crore. It’s important to note here that Sigachi Industries IPO had received strong interest from investors and the shares of the company had made a strong debut on the exchanges. Meanwhile, shares of the company pared some of their gains yesterday and ended around 4% higher.
Investments in real estate to rise
According to an industry report, investment volumes in the real estate sector have risen in the third quarter and will continue to grow in 2022.
Most investors said that office spaces are their top global strategy picks. Besides this, experts state that investments in residential are likely to strengthen in 2022 backed by income visibility and attractive valuations. Meanwhile, the Nifty Realty Index was down 1.3% yesterday, amid broader market weakness.
