Novelis’s new plan(t) 🏭
Hindalco’s US-based subsidiary, Novelis, will invest $2.5 billion to build a low-carbon recycling and rolling plant in Alabama, USA. More than half of its initial capacity of 600 kilotonnes will be used to make aluminium beverage can sheets. The plant will begin commissioning in mid-2025.
US inflation peaked? 🤞
Consumer prices in the US moderated for the first time in eight months as fuel prices cooled off. Inflation grew by 8.3% in April, lower than the 8.5% rise in March. A slow rise in consumer prices could indicate that inflation has touched a peak.

Online food-ordering platforms such as Zomato and Swiggy are reportedly facing a shortage of delivery executives across metros. According to Swiggy, the cricketing and festive season has led to increased demand for food as well instant grocery delivery.
