Nifty50
The Nifty50 gave up all its opening gains and fell to 16,200-mark. In a volatile trading session, the oil & gas, IT and banking stocks led the fall, while gains in FMCG and pharma stocks provided support. The Nifty50 declined 19 points to end at 16,240.

Bank Nifty
The Bank Nifty wiped off all its initial gains and ended the session near the day's low. Both PSU and private bank indices ended in the red. Barring Axis Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank, all the other ten stocks of the banking index closed in the red. The Bank Nifty fell 138 points and closed at 34,163.

As per the options data, the broad range for the Bank Nifty is between 32,800 and 35,500 levels. Its immediate support is at 33,700 and resistance is at 34,800 levels.

Sector Update
The FMCG and Pharma sectors managed to post gains. Stocks like Marico, Tata Consumer Products, HUL, Granules and Aurobindo Pharma ended in the green.
The Realty and Oil & Gas sectors came under selling pressure. Stocks like Godrej Properties, DLF, Indian Oil Corporation, HPCL and BPCL ended in the red.
