Market Status
This table presents a comprehensive enumeration of market statuses, each signifying a distinct phase in the trading session timeline.

| NORMAL_OPEN | Indicates the start of a normal trading session. |
| NORMAL_CLOSE | Marks the end of a normal trading session. |
| PRE_OPEN_START | Marks the beginning of the pre-market session. |

| CLOSING_START | Marks the start of the closing phase. |
| CLOSING_END | Indicates the end of the closing phase. |
Closing Auction Session (CAS) statuses
The Closing Auction Session (CAS) is a call-auction window that determines the closing price for eligible securities. CAS statuses are reported separately from the segment market status and apply only to CAS-eligible segments (for example, NSE_EQ). For segments where CAS does not exist, the CAS status is absent.
In addition to the statuses above, a CAS-eligible security can report the following values during the closing auction window:

| CTS_CLOSE | Continuous trading has closed for CAS-eligible securities, ahead of the closing auction (around 3:15 PM IST). |
| CAS_LM_START | The closing auction session has started and accepts limit and market orders (around 3:20 PM IST). |
| CAS_M_STOP | Market-order entry is restricted during the closing auction; limit orders continue (around 3:25 PM IST). |
| CAS_STOP | The closing auction order-entry window has ended (randomly between 3:28 and 3:30 PM IST). |
The NORMAL_OPEN, NORMAL_CLOSE, PRE_OPEN_START, PRE_OPEN_END, CLOSING_START, and CLOSING_END statuses above also apply to CAS-eligible securities.
