MTF Support​

Effective Immediately

We are excited to announce the integration of Margin Trading Facility (MTF) product support in our Order Placement API. This enhancement enables traders to leverage margin funding directly through API requests when placing orders.

What is MTF?​

Margin Trading Facility (MTF) allows investors to buy securities by paying a fraction of the transaction value. The remaining amount is funded by the Upstox. This facility enables investors to take larger positions with limited available capital.

What's New?​

  1. MTF Eligible Instruments

    • Description: Not all instruments are eligible for MTF trading. You can download the list of MTF eligible instruments from the provided file below.

  2. MTF Product Type in Order API

    • Description: Specify MTF as the product type in your order placement requests to access margin funding.
    • Documentation: Place Order V3 API

  3. Get MTF Positions API

How to Get Started​

  • Accessing the Feature: The MTF product type is supported in the Standard/Multi Order Placement API. Please refer to the updated documentation for detailed usage guidelines.
  • Eligibility: MTF is available only for selected securities as approved by the exchange.
