Beta Launch of Access Token Flow for User​

Effective Immediately

We're excited to announce the beta release of the Access Token Flow for Individual Users. Token Initiators can now request for access token for a user and once approved by the user, the token will be securely sent to them.

Streamlined Access Token Generation for User

  • This is the simplified token generation process designed specifically for individual users. This feature enables Token initiators to request an access token on behalf of their customers, making the process seamless and efficient.
  • Here’s how it works:
    • Initiator sends a request for a access token.
    • Users receive a notification via the Upstox app and WhatsApp, asking for their approval.
    • Upon user's approval, the generated access token is securely transmitted to the specified Notifier webhook endpoint.
  • This process not only enhances security but also ensures smoother integration and a hassle-free trading experience for users.

Use of Notifier Webhook Endpoint

  • During the app generation process, user can specify an Initiator's POST API as their notifier webhook endpoint. Users also have the flexibility to update the notifier webhook endpoint for their existing apps. Once specified, the generated access token will be sent to this endpoint after the user approves the access token request.
    The endpoint does not require authentication mechanisms and should respond with either a plain string or a JSON object.

What Does Beta Mean?​

This beta release signifies that the API is still in the testing phase and may undergo refinements based on user feedback. Although we have conducted extensive internal testing to ensure reliability, we welcome you to try API and share your experiences to help us improve.
