India clinched six medals during the 2024 Paris Olympics. The games, which started on July 26 and are set to end on August 11, saw the participation of 10,714 athletes from across 206 nations.

Of the six medals that India won, the country bagged one silver in athletics, a bronze in hockey, three bronze in shooting, and one bronze in wrestling.

India clinched its first silver medal after Neeraj Chopra, the country’s star athlete, achieved a throw of 89.45 metres in the men's javelin throw. Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem took gold with a record-breaking throw of 92.97 metres.

The Indian men’s hockey team won a bronze medal with a 2-1 win against Spain. The hockey team had also won a bronze during the Tokyo Olympics after a 41-year hiatus.
