The Vande Bharat Express is a superfast AC chair car service connecting cities that are less than 800 km apart. The train was first launched on February 15, 2019, from New Delhi to Varanasi.
As per reports, the first Vande Bharat sleeper train is set to become operational by December 2024.

The train has been designed and manufactured by BEML Limited, while the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai will do the final testing and commissioning.

The train will have sixteen coaches with 823 berths, including eleven AC-3 tier coaches, four AC 2-tier coaches and one AC first-class coach.
The trains will offer a world-class experience to passengers, similar to Europe’s Nightjet sleeper trains.

The Vande Bharat sleeper train will run at a maximum speed of 160 km per hour.
The car body is built with high-grade stainless steel for improved passenger safety. The train will also be equipped with the Kavach collision avoidance system.
Other features include a modular pantry, facilities for differently-abled passengers, automatic doors and integrated reading lights with USB charging.
