Discovered in 1951, Painite holds the Guinness World Record for being the rarest gemstone mineral on Earth. There are only over 1,000 Painite stones available and only a few of them are in decent shape.

Discovered in 1967 in Africa’s Tanzania, Tanzanite is one of the rarest gemstones present on earth. It is only found in Tanzania and appears in three different colours from different angles: Blue, violet and burgundy.

What makes this mineral unique is that only 5% of it found every year is of gem quality and the rest are never faceted. It comes in various shades like strawberry, cherry, orange, and bright ruby.

Most opals are white, grey or green, which makes a Black Opal extremely rare. It was discovered in Australia and is known for its ability to play with the light and produce a display of colours.

Discovered in Russia’s Ural Mountains, Alexandrite is known as “Emerald by day, ruby by night” for its colour-changing properties. While natural Alexandrite is rare, lab-created versions are widely available.
