Many things we once used daily are quietly slipping away. From landlines to cheque books, here are five items that are slowly fading in 2025.
Mobile phones have taken over. With everyone relying on WhatsApp or calls-on-the-go, landlines now sit unused in most homes and offices.
Email and document scanning have made fax machines nearly redundant. Most workplaces have already shifted to faster and more convenient options.
Most of us now rely on phone apps for directions. With real-time updates and voice guidance, printed maps have quietly disappeared from our travel plans.
Discs scratch, streaming doesn’t. OTT platforms and pen drives have made DVD players feel bulky and outdated in most homes.
Music apps let people choose what they hear, whenever they want. FM still works, but fewer people are tuning in as habits change.
With UPI, mobile wallets and instant transfers becoming the norm, cheque books are now used only for limited formal or institutional purposes.
These are just a few of the many things slowly fading from daily life. As habits change, more familiar items will quietly lose their place around us.
