Top gainers and losers on July 10: Bharti Airtel slips 3%, Asian Paints, HDFC Life fall over 2%; check full list

The Indian benchmark indices, SENSEX and NIFTY50, closed in negative territory on Thursday, July 10, under selling pressure due to weakness in IT and telecom stocks as investors turned cautious ahead of the start of earnings season. Tariff-related uncertainty also dampened investor sentiment.

The NIFTY 50 declined by 120.85 points or 0.47% to close at 25,355.25. Meanwhile, SENSEX settled at 83,190.28 (-345.8 points).

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

Bharti Airtel dragged the NIFTY50 index, slipping 2.76%, followed by Asian Paints (-2.06%), HDFC Life Insurance Company (-2.05%), Apollo Hospital (-1.55%) and Shriram Finance (-1.37%), which were among the top laggards on Thursday.

On the other hand, IndusInd Bank closed in the green (1.56%). Maruti Suzuki (1.4%), Tata Steel (1.03%), Bajaj Finance (0.66%) and Jio Financial Services (0.61%) were the day’s top gainers.

NIFTY Midcap 100 top gainers and losers

NSE’s NIFTY Midcap 100 gauge fell 0.3% or 179.65 points to close at 59,159.95 on July 10. The index was weighed down by Bharti Dynamics, which lost 4.8%. The other losers were Solar Industries (-3.28%), PI Industries (-2.99%), Bharat Forge (-2.97%) and Coforge (-2.27%).

On the flip side, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals surged as much as 5.54%, followed by One 97 Communications (4%), Premier Energies (3.71%), Prestige Estate Projects (2.69%) and IREDA (2.39%), were among the top gainers. IREDA shares soared ahead of first-quarter earnings.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 top gainers and losers

The NIFTY Smallcap 100 index declined by 0.27% or 51.15 points to close at 18,956.25. Its top losers included Zen Technologies (-2.91%), Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (-2.76%), Data Patterns (-2.56%), Great Eastern Shipping Company (-2.25%) and Navin Fluorine International (-2.17%).

On the contrary, Sagility India (3.99%), Ramkrishna Forgings (2.75%), BLS International Services (2.29%), Go Digit General Insurance (2.2%) and IIFL Finance (2.17%) were among the top gainers.
