The US, ranking number one, has won 2,959 Olympic medals. The US also holds the number 1 position at the Paris Olympics, having won 95 medals as of August 8.
The second position is held by the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (Soviet Union), which was dissolved in 1991. The Soviet Union has a record of winning 1204 medals.
Great Britain holds the third position with a total of 950 medals, followed by Germany and France with 922 and 889 medals, respectively.
