Early life
Satya Nadella was born in Hyderabad on August 19, 1967. His mother was a Sanskrit professor and his father was a civil servant.
Education
Nadella holds a BTech from Manipal Institute of Technology, an MS in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin, and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
Joining Microsoft
Nadella's first job in the US was with Sun Microsystems. In 1992, he joined Microsoft as a young engineer.
Rise to CEO
In 2000, Satya became VP of Microsoft Central. He was appointed as CEO on February 4, 2014, succeeding Steve Ballmer.
Change maker
He made decisive changes as the CEO. These included releasing Office for Apple, Outlook for Android, skipping Windows 9 and introducing Windows 10.
