M&M launches two new EVs: BE 6e and XEV 9e

Electric vehicles are all the hype in the country and across the globe. Domestic players in India have developed affordable and innovative options for consumers in the EV space. 

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) is consistently growing its presence in the EV market. Let’s see the key highlights of its newly launched vehicles.

M&M recently announced the launch of two new electric Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs), by its subsidiary Mahindra Electric Automobile Limited (MEAL). 

The two EVs, XEV 9e and BE 6e, have starting prices of ₹18.9 lakh and ₹21.9 lakh, respectively, and deliveries can be expected to start in February/March 2025.

These vehicles are built on Mahindra’s INGLO platform, aimed at producing lightweight, modular and safe EVs.

The two newly launched models are a part of Mahindra’s six EVs planned for its XEV and BE brands for the upcoming years.

The automaker is reforming its dealer network in the metro cities to efficiently launch the new EVs.

Both vehicles offer a stellar range—656 km for the XEV 9e and 682 km for the BE 6e model. They also have a fast-charging option for batteries to go from 20% to 80% within 20 minutes.

M&M has a ₹16,000 crore budget for electric vehicles to be invested between FY22-FY27. For the current launch, it has invested ₹4,500 crore for the overall development of the two new vehicles.

The company aims to expand its reach to global markets once the new vehicles are established in the domestic market.
