Tenure: 1991-96 (5 years) With his LPG (Liberalisation, Privatisation, and Globalisation) reforms in 1991, he changed the trajectory of India’s growth.

6. Nirmala Sitharaman

Tenure: 2019-present (over 5 years) She is the current Finance Minister and the first to present seven consecutive budgets, including the July 2024 interim budget.

5. CD Deshmukh

Tenure: 1950-56 (6 years) He was the third FM of an Independent India and the first Indian to serve as the Governor of RBI.

4. Dr. Yashwant Sinha
